HE'S maintained a dignified silence over claims that he's a lousy lover and a liar but James Blunt has told us that he's ready to hit back.

The singer, pictured with 3am's Caroline after scooping two Ivor Novello awards yesterday, revealed he'll spill the beans on his affair with socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson... in song.

"All I can say is thanks for your kind words - everything that has been said is going to go on to my new album," he warned. "Some of the lines about me are really sharp and it seems a shame to waste them."

James, 30, and TPT, 34 (above) had a steamy affair in March but it ended in tears when Tara found out he already had a girlfriend, Camilla Bowler. Tara branded him "James c***", said she felt "deceived" and claimed the former soldier was rubbish in bed. Ouch!

After all that, we're not surprised that James - who picked up the PRS Most Performed Work and International Hit Of The Year awards for You're Beautiful at the bash in London's Grosvenor House - wants to put his side of the story across.

The ex-public schoolboy may also pen a riposte to low-rent TV presenter Emma Kearney, who spilled the beans after a lust-filled night last month.
