British singer/songwriter JAMES BLUNT has become the latest victim of music parody king WEIRD AL YANKOVIC - the quirky star has reworked mega-hit YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL as YOU'RE PITIFUL.Yankovic famously reworked MICHAEL JACKSON hits BEAT IT and BAD as EAT IT and FAT, covered MADONNA on LIKE A SURGEON, and poked fun at NIRVANA's SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT on SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA.In the hilarious parody of You're Beautiful, which is currently available to download on Yankovich's website, the comic sings, "You're pitiful, you're pitiful, you're pitiful, it's true / Never had a date that you couldn't inflate / And you smell repulsive, too / What a bummer being you." Blunt's ballad topped the charts in 2005 and 2006 in 25 countries and the singer/songwriter was honoured with the International Hit of The Year and Most Performed Work gongs at last month's (MAY06) Ivor Novello Awards in London.The Brit is sure to take the parody well - he admitted at the awards show that even he's sick of hearing You're Beautiful, stating, "This is an award for the most overplayed record of the year."
