British singer James Blunt is being sued over royalty rights.

Blunt's album Back to Bedlam is at the centre of the controversy, in a dispute with Blunt's former writing partner, Lucas Burton. Burton claims that he helped Blunt to write several of the songs from the album, but once Blunt obtained a record contract, he dropped him. The royalties from the album have been frozen until the courts can determine if Burton has a valid claim.

Back to Bedlam is Blunt's first album, and the first British album to reach America's number one spot on the charts in nearly 10 years, selling more than 3.2 million copies.
